The logo of the Bialetti brand consists of a graphic symbol — a caricature mustached man with his index finger raised, in black — and the company name in a clear, straightforward font. This character, known as “l’omino con i baffi” (“the little man with a moustache”), was created by artist Paul Campani in the 1950s and became a vivid brand symbol. His image embodies the recognition and character of Bialetti products, especially the iconic Moka Express stovetop coffee maker. The logo first appeared after its release and has remained almost unchanged, continuing to be a key feature on packaging, products, and official branding materials.
Bialetti was founded in 1919 by engineer Alfonso Bialetti in the Italian town of Crusinallo as a small workshop for producing aluminum items. In 1933, he introduced his main innovation — the Moka Express coffee maker, which made espresso-style coffee possible at home. His son, Renato Bialetti, played a key role in transforming the brand into an internationally recognized symbol of Italian coffee culture, promoting it through television and mass advertising. Today, Bialetti remains one of the leaders in coffee equipment manufacturing, but also produces ground coffee, capsules, cookware — including non-stick pans — and various accessories for preparing and serving beverages. The company’s products are available in dozens of countries and continue to evolve, staying true to its heritage and distinctive style.
