The DAF logo is a minimalistic and strict corporate mark: bold uppercase DAF letters in deep blue on a white background, with a thick red horizontal underline. The letter “A” has an open top, adding dynamism and a modern touch to the design. This version of the logo was introduced in 1989 and has remained unchanged since. The name DAF is an abbreviation of Van Doorne’s Aanhangwagen Fabriek, which means “Van Doorne’s Trailer Factory” in Dutch. The original logo featured stylized automotive elements, but over time it was simplified into a clean text-based version focused on recognition and industrial utility.
DAF is a Dutch truck manufacturer founded in 1928 in Eindhoven by engineer Hub van Doorne. Initially, the company produced trailers and semi-trailers, and in 1949 it began manufacturing trucks. By 1957, DAF had established its own engine production and became one of the first companies to implement turbocharging and intercooling in serial production trucks. Today, DAF is part of the American PACCAR Corporation and offers a broad range of models—from light urban LF to heavy-duty long-haul XF and XG. Its production facilities are located in the Netherlands, Belgium, the UK, Brazil, and Australia. The brand now focuses on electric trucks, environmental standards compliance, and innovation in fuel efficiency and safety.
