The Gemini logo, an AI service by Google, is based on a graphic mark shaped like a four-pointed, diamond-like star with smooth elongated points and a multicolor gradient in Google’s palette: red at the top, blue on the right, green at the bottom, and yellow on the left, with soft transitions between the colors. In the version with a wordmark, the name “Gemini” appears next to the symbol in Google’s brand typeface; in some uses, the symbol appears on its own without text. The name Gemini comes from Latin meaning “twins”; it is also used as the name of a constellation and a zodiac sign.
Gemini is Google’s AI assistant and also the brand for a family of AI models developed by Google DeepMind. In December 2023, Google introduced the Gemini models, and in February 2024 it renamed the Bard chatbot to Gemini and began developing a standalone service and apps under this name. Today, Gemini is used both as a consumer assistant (web and mobile apps) and as a model family available to developers and businesses through Google tools and platforms.
