The logo of the German Federal Government consists of a black federal eagle, a vertical element in the colors of the national flag, and the wording Die Bundesregierung. On the left is a black eagle with outstretched wings; next to it is a vertical bar divided into black, red and gold sections — the colors of the German flag. On the right, the name appears on two lines in a black sans-serif typeface. In the official design system, this mark is called the Bildwortmarke der Bundesregierung, while the colored bar is described as a stylized flag or Flaggenstab. It is part of the unified corporate design of Germany’s federal authorities, the foundations of which were approved by the Federal Cabinet on 2 June 1999. The same system is used by the federal ministries, which have their own versions of the mark with the corresponding ministry names.
The Federal Government of Germany, Bundesregierung, is the federal executive of the Federal Republic of Germany. It consists of the Federal Chancellor and the federal ministers, who together form the Federal Cabinet. The Chancellor sets the general guidelines for government policy, while the federal ministries are responsible for specific areas of administration, including the economy, finance, domestic and foreign affairs, defense, education, health and other fields. The Federal Government participates in drafting legislation, implementing federal laws, shaping the country’s domestic and foreign policy, and coordinating the work of government bodies. Official decisions, statements, Federal Cabinet materials and information about government activities are published on bundesregierung.de.
