Haier logo is a minimalist wordmark designed in a modern, streamlined style. The sans-serif typeface with rounded shapes conveys a sense of technology, reliability, and openness. The distinctive “r” features a softly curved upper terminal, setting the logo apart from typical fonts and making it more recognizable. This design has been in use since 2013, replacing a more angular version. The visual update made the logo more universal, contemporary, and suitable for the brand’s global positioning, while preserving its legacy.
Haier was founded in 1984 in Qingdao, China, originally as a refrigerator manufacturer. Its name comes from the Chinese pronunciation of the last part of “Liebherr,” the German company that helped Haier get started. A key moment in its growth was the emphasis on quality: the then CEO Zhang Ruimin famously smashed defective refrigerators to set a standard of excellence. Today, Haier is one of the world’s largest appliance manufacturers. Its portfolio includes brands like GE Appliances, Candy, and Fisher & Paykel. The company actively develops smart home and IoT solutions, operates localized production in various countries, and is present in over 200 markets, staying among the global leaders in its industry.
