The Hongqi logo, refreshed in 2018, features a vertical shield with a black background and a stylized red element resembling a flag or flowing ribbon—symbolizing dynamism, development, and national heritage. The shield is bordered by a silver frame, highlighting status and modernity. Historically, the brand used red Chinese characters “红旗” (meaning “red flag”), directly reflecting PRC symbolism. Previous logos also incorporated floral motifs and calligraphic designs. The current emblem targets the premium segment and emphasizes the blend of Chinese identity with technological progress.
Hongqi is China’s oldest premium automotive brand, founded in 1958 under FAW (First Automobile Works). Initially, its vehicles were built exclusively for state functions, including official limousines for high-ranking officials. In the 1990s, the brand began its commercial expansion, and since 2018 has experienced a revival with a focus on electric power, digital technologies, and global presence. The lineup includes sedans, crossovers, and electric flagship models. Hongqi emphasizes a fusion of national design, luxury, and advanced technologies, positioning itself as China’s answer to European premium brands.
