The logo of Old Spice — a renowned brand of men’s grooming and hygiene products including deodorants, body washes, shampoos, and lotions — features the brand name in an elegant, slightly slanted typeface, often accompanied by a sailing ship emblem above the text. In many instances the lettering appears in white against a vibrant red background, though alternate color schemes (such as red text on white) are also used depending on context. The ship motif remains central to the design, reflecting a nautical theme that dates back to the brand’s early imagery.
Old Spice was launched in 1937 in the USA by Shulton as a fragrance line, initially targeted at women but soon expanded to a men’s range; over time the male segment became dominant. In 1990 the brand was acquired by Procter & Gamble, which expanded and repositioned it toward a broader line of men’s care products. Notably, in the 2010s Old Spice gained renewed popularity thanks to bold, humorous advertising campaigns (like “The Man Your Man Could Smell Like”), reinforcing its image and reach in many countries.
