The logo of the Sapsan high-speed train, operated in the field of passenger rail transportation, is designed as a wordmark combined with a graphic element. The basis is the name set in an italic sans-serif typeface, with a dynamic letterform that emphasizes movement and speed. To the right of the text is a graphic sign in the form of a stylized bird wing, composed of elongated flowing lines. This element refers to the peregrine falcon, one of the fastest birds in the world, directly reflecting the purpose of the train. The logo’s color scheme is built around a rich red tone used in both the text and graphic elements and consistently maintained across all current versions of the brand identity.
“Sapsan” is a brand of high-speed passenger trains operated by Russian Railways. The trains entered regular service in 2009 and are designed for high-speed connections between Russia’s largest cities, primarily on the Moscow–Saint Petersburg and Moscow–Nizhny Novgorod routes. The rolling stock is based on the Siemens Velaro platform and adapted to Russian operating conditions. Sapsan became the first mass high-speed train in the country and plays a key role in the development of passenger rail transport, establishing a strong association with speed, advanced technology, and intercity travel.
