The Microsoft Word logo, for Microsoft’s word processor, looks like an icon with a layered mark in blue tones: in the background there is a sheet with rounded corners, made up of three blocks in different shades, from deep blue to light blue, with soft gradient transitions. Over the sheet there is a darker blue panel with a white “W”. In the Microsoft 365 icon system, Word keeps the “W” letter mark and its blue color association, and in current versions the icon uses stronger gradients and more dimensional color transitions.
Microsoft Word is a program for creating and editing text documents, presented by Microsoft Corporation and included in Microsoft 365 (and Microsoft Office). It is used for typing and formatting text, working with styles, tables, and images, co-authoring, comments, and Track Changes, as well as preparing documents for printing and sharing files in common Word formats. The product dates back to 1983 and over the decades has become one of the most widely used word processors in the world, remaining a core tool for office documents on Windows, macOS, mobile devices, and the web version.
