Where and how can I use it?

SVG format

It’s a lightweight vector format (in kilobytes) that’s ideal for use on websites, in mobile apps, and for print. Thanks to its scalability to any size without loss of quality, it can be scaled from the size of an icon to a banner on a building. The file is easily editable in popular graphics editors such as Figma, Adobe Illustrator, CorelDRAW, and others, and opens in Photoshop without any issues.

PNG format

It’s a raster format with support for transparent backgrounds, making it ideal for use on websites, web graphics, in presentations, documents, and social media. PNG preserves high image quality at its original size, but may lose sharpness and become blurred when enlarged. The file easily opens and is used in popular editors such as Photoshop, GIMP, Canva, Figma, and most standard image viewers.

Gold Primetime Emmy Awards symbol: a winged figure with an atom — PNG with a transparent background

The Primetime Emmy Awards logo is represented by a gold silhouette of the Emmy statuette: a winged female figure holding an atom above her head. The wings symbolise the muse of art, while the atom represents the science and technology that made television possible. Television engineer Louis McManus developed the design in 1948, using his wife Dorothy as the model. The name Emmy evolved from Immy, a nickname for the image orthicon television camera tube; its spelling was changed to match the award’s female figure. The standalone symbol appears without lettering. It is a shared Emmy emblem used across different branches of the awards; the event name and context establish its specific connection to Primetime.

The Primetime Emmy Awards are American television awards presented by the Television Academy. They recognise achievements in series, television films, entertainment programmes and other forms of television content. Emmy history began with the first ceremony on 25 January 1949 at the Hollywood Athletic Club in Los Angeles. In today’s awards system, the main television categories are complemented by the Creative Arts Emmy Awards, which honour many creative and technical disciplines, from cinematography and editing to costumes, sound and visual effects. Nominees and winners are determined under the academy’s rules with the participation of its professional community. Primetime awards belong to the Television Academy and are distinct from the Daytime Emmy Awards organised by the National Academy of Television Arts & Sciences.
