The Godot logo, representing the game engine for 2D and 3D projects, combines a robot head with the name. The top of the blue head resembles a cogwheel. Its face has two circular eyes with white rims and dark centres, a short vertical nose and a white zigzag mouth. In the vertical version, the symbol sits above the large, dark GODOT wordmark, with the thinner grey line Game engine beneath it. In the horizontal composition, the blue head appears to the left of the dark GODOT name. The robot head can also be used on its own as an icon.
Godot Engine is a free, open-source game engine developed by a community. It provides an editor and tools for making 2D and 3D games. Projects are built from nodes that are grouped into scenes and can be reused in different parts of a game. Programming uses the engine's own GDScript language, with C# also supported. Built-in tools handle images, sound, animation, interfaces and gameplay behaviour. Developers can extend the editor with add-ons and create their own tools. The engine is used by small independent teams as well as creators of commercial games.
