The Motorola logo is a graphic symbol of a stylized “M” enclosed in a circle. The symbol consists of two symmetrical elements tapering at the top with inward curved sides. Designed in 1955 by Morton Goldworth, it has become one of the most recognizable symbols in the electronics industry. In Motorola’s visual identity, the logo is usually white on a black or light-blue background, especially in digital products and marketing materials. Sometimes it appears inverted — a black logo on a white background. Alongside the symbol, the brand uses the wordmark motorola in lowercase, set in a simple, rounded sans-serif font.
Motorola was founded in 1928 in Chicago as Galvin Manufacturing Corporation and received its current name in the 1930s, combining “motor” with the then-popular suffix “‑ola.” Motorola played a key role in the development of radio, telecommunications, and mobile technology, introducing the world’s first commercial mobile phone. In 2011 the company split into two divisions: Motorola Mobility, specializing in consumer electronics (now part of Lenovo), and Motorola Solutions, focusing on professional communications. Today, under the Motorola brand, smartphones, earbuds, and various digital accessories are released — primarily Android devices in the mid-range and affordable market segments.
