The current Affinity logo, for a professional application for graphic design, photo editing and page layout, consists of a lowercase serif wordmark and a separate graphic symbol. The wordmark combines broad rounded forms, smooth curves and sharp stroke endings, while the first letter “a” has a particularly distinctive shape with a large loop. The separate symbol is based on the same letter “a” and appears inside a light green square with rounded corners as the app icon. In 2025, Affinity completely refreshed its visual identity, moving away from the previous angular symbols used for the separate Designer, Photo and Publisher applications. In the new symbol, flowing lines are associated with the creative freedom of artists and illustrators, while the sharp, precise elements relate to the work of graphic designers. The Affinity Serif typeface was also created for the brand system, while a bright lime green was added to the palette alongside neutral dark tones.
Affinity is a professional application for vector graphics, raster image editing and multi-page layout. Its history began in the United Kingdom with Serif’s development of Affinity Designer. The first version of Designer was released in 2014, followed by Affinity Photo and Affinity Publisher, forming a suite of applications for designers, photographers and publishing workflows. In March 2024, Serif and Affinity became part of Canva, and on October 29, 2025, the brand was relaunched with an entirely new Affinity that combined vector design, image editing and page layout tools in a single application. The software became free for all users with a Canva account, while additional Canva AI features are available through paid Canva plans. Affinity continues to develop as a professional creative tool and is part of the Canva ecosystem alongside other solutions for creative work.
