The Microsoft Teams logo of the app for communication, meetings, and collaboration is rendered in blue gradients and designed as a layered sign centered on the idea of teamwork. The image is based on two stylized human silhouettes with round heads, joined by a shared raised body shape formed by a folded ribbon with rounded corners. In the foreground sits a small dark blue square tile with rounded corners bearing a white letter “T”. This combination of figures and letter links the sign both to the Teams name and to the idea of collaboration between several participants.
Microsoft Corporation launched Teams in March 2017 as a chat-based workspace within Office 365 and later turned it into one of the key services in the Microsoft 365 ecosystem. Today, Microsoft describes Teams as a hub for teamwork in Microsoft 365 and as a communication and collaboration app designed, among other things, for hybrid work. The service brings together chats, channels, video meetings, calls, collaborative work on files, and integrations with other Microsoft products. The history of Teams is also tied to the gradual replacement of Skype for Business within the Microsoft 365 corporate environment, which made the brand one of the central platforms for workplace communication.
