The BBVA logo of the Spanish bank consists of the abbreviation set in large uppercase letters. The main version is dark blue: the two B letters have solid straight forms with rounded inner counters, while the V and A look like two angled check marks: the V points downward, and the A points upward. In a banking context, this downward and upward movement can visually suggest incoming and outgoing funds. During the 2019 identity update, BBVA changed the typeface and structure of the logo while keeping the blue color and uppercase lettering. Depending on the background, the logo can also be used in white on a dark blue or another dark background. The name BBVA is an abbreviation of Banco Bilbao Vizcaya Argentaria.
Banco Bilbao Vizcaya Argentaria, S.A. is a Spanish international financial group headquartered in Bilbao, with an operational presence in Madrid.
