The Unity logo, for a game engine and platform used to create interactive applications, consists of a flat, single-color graphic mark whose design creates the appearance of a three-dimensional cube. The mark is formed by three broad arrow-shaped elements extending from the center in different directions and forming the faces of the cube. In the version introduced in 2021, Unity completely redesigned the previous cube while preserving its core concept. The company associated the three spatial axes of the mark with Unity technology, creators, and the interactive projects they produce, while the three arrows represented the many possibilities offered by the platform. In the full version, the Unity name appears to the right of the graphic mark. The logo is used in black or white depending on the background, and the graphic mark can also be used on its own.
Unity is a game engine and software platform from Unity Software Inc. for creating 2D and 3D games, applications, and other interactive projects. The company was founded in Denmark in 2004 by David Helgason, Joachim Ante, and Nicholas Francis under the name Over the Edge Entertainment and later developed under the Unity brand. The engine allows developers to create projects in C# and release them for mobile devices, Windows, macOS, game consoles, the web, virtual and augmented reality devices, and other platforms. Unity is used not only in the gaming industry but also for interactive 3D visualization in automotive, manufacturing, architecture, education, and other fields. Today, Unity describes its product as a leading game engine, and Unity Editor is used by more than 1.3 million monthly active users.
