The Palantir logo, representing the American company that develops software platforms for data and artificial intelligence, consists of a graphic symbol and the company name set in large sans-serif letters. The symbol is formed by a ring with a wide V-shaped figure beneath it, resembling a check mark or a downward-pointing arrowhead. Together, the elements create a simple geometric mark. Its designer, Garry Tan, intended the graphic to have two interpretations: a palantír on a stand from the works of J. R. R. Tolkien and a person leaning over an open book. The company name also comes from the palantíri, the “seeing stones” that allowed users to observe events from great distances. The basic composition of the symbol has remained in use since Palantir’s early years, with black and white versions used for different backgrounds.
