The Raiffeisen Bank International logo, representing an international banking group, combines the distinctive Gable Cross symbol with a wordmark. The symbol consists of two crossed, stylized horse heads forming a diagonal cross. In the full version, the brand name appears beside it on two lines, with Raiffeisen Bank set in a larger, bolder typeface and International placed below in a lighter weight. Dark and white versions are used, while in the square color version the symbol appears on the brand’s yellow background. The Gable Cross can also be used on its own, for example in compact formats. Its origins lie in an old European protective symbol made up of two crossed horse heads that was traditionally placed on the gable of a house. The symbol was adopted as a trademark as early as 1877, during the lifetime of Friedrich Wilhelm Raiffeisen, whose surname gave its name to the Raiffeisen banking movement and brand. In 2023, RBI refreshed and standardized its visual identity across the group, while retaining the Gable Cross and yellow as key elements of its identity.
Raiffeisen Bank International AG, or RBI, is an Austrian banking group headquartered in Vienna. In its current form, the bank was created in 2010 through the merger of the main business areas of Raiffeisen Zentralbank Österreich AG and Raiffeisen International. In 2017, RZB was fully merged into RBI, which became its legal successor. Today, RBI is one of Austria’s leading corporate and investment banks and operates as a universal bank in 11 markets across Central and Eastern Europe. The group serves private customers, companies and financial institutions and is also active in leasing, asset management, investment banking and M&A transactions. Raiffeisen’s international expansion in Central and Eastern Europe began in 1986 with the establishment of its first subsidiary bank in Hungary.
