The White House logo depicts the north facade of the U.S. president’s residence in detail, showing its columns, numerous windows and the American flag flying above the roof. Below the illustration, the name of the residence, “THE WHITE HOUSE”, appears in large serif letters, with “WASHINGTON” underneath in smaller, widely spaced letters. The logo is primarily dark blue, with a white version also available. The American flag retains its red, white and blue colors in both versions. The current logo was introduced in January 2025. Compared with the previous version, the illustration of the building features more architectural details and a full-color American flag, which was previously rendered in the same color as the rest of the design.
The White House is the official residence and principal workplace of the president of the United States, located at 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue in Washington, D.C. Construction began in 1792, following a design by Irish architect James Hoban, and President John Adams became its first resident in 1800. The residence takes its name from its white exterior finish, which was originally used to protect the stone walls from moisture and deterioration. In 1901, President Theodore Roosevelt formally adopted the name “White House”, replacing the previous designation “Executive Mansion”. Today, the building houses the president’s offices and living quarters and hosts government meetings, official receptions and negotiations with foreign leaders.
