The Liberty Mutual logo, used by the insurance company, combines an image of the Statue of Liberty holding up her torch with the brand name in large serif lettering. The graphic symbol depicts the upper part of the statue, including its crown and torch, which is raised on the left side of the composition. A horizontal line runs beneath the company name, with the word INSURANCE below it in widely spaced uppercase letters. In the horizontal version, the name appears on a single line, while in the other version, Liberty and Mutual are stacked one above the other. In both versions, the statue is positioned to the left of the text. The primary logo is dark blue-violet, and a white version is also available for use on dark backgrounds. The Statue of Liberty has been part of the company’s visual identity since the early 1920s, appearing in Liberty Mutual advertisements as early as 1921. Over time, the detailed depiction of the monument was simplified into a graphic silhouette that retained its crown and raised torch. The choice of the Statue of Liberty is connected to the brand name and the imagery of freedom used in the company’s visual identity.
