The PNC logo, representing a financial group, consists of an orange circle with a white geometric symbol and the brand name placed to the right. Inside the circle is a white ribbon forming a triangular shape. At each corner, the ribbon appears to turn over itself, while the overlapping effect is created in the flat design through cut-out areas. To the right, large uppercase PNC letters with prominent serifs are displayed in dark gray. A version with a white wordmark is used on dark backgrounds, while the orange circle and white symbol remain unchanged. The triangular motif originates from the emblem of Pittsburgh National Bank from 1959, which was associated with Pittsburgh’s “Golden Triangle”. Later, this motif was redesigned into the current symbol inside the orange circle. The PNC name appeared in 1983 after the merger of Pittsburgh National Corporation and Provident National Corporation, whose matching initials became the name of the new financial group.
