The logo of Emma Bridgewater, the pottery and homeware brand, is a wordmark set in a bold serif typeface. Broad vertical strokes alternate with thin connecting strokes, while rounded letters sit alongside clearly defined horizontal bases. The first name and surname begin with capitals, with the remaining letters in lowercase. The main black version is used on light backgrounds and the white version on dark ones. Both a single-line wordmark and a layout with the first name above the surname are used. Some materials pair the mark with the slogan Feels Like Home. The brand takes its name from its founder, Emma Bridgewater.
Emma Bridgewater is a British company founded in 1985, known for hand-decorated pottery made in Stoke-on-Trent. Emma’s idea for her own pottery business came a year earlier, when she was looking for a present for her mother and could not find cups and saucers that captured the atmosphere of her mother’s kitchen. This led to cream-coloured earthenware with colourful designs for everyday use. Among its most recognisable patterns are multicoloured polka dots, hearts, flowers and lettering. Sponge stamps and hand decoration are used, so individual pieces may vary slightly. Alongside tableware, the brand’s designs also appear on textiles, stationery and other homeware.
