The logo of Lomonosov Moscow State University, or MSU, combines an emblem of its main building with the full name. The central high-rise tower, its spire and the flanking wings are surrounded by a wreath, with the date 1755 below. In the vertical layout, the emblem sits above the name, while in the horizontal layout it is placed to the left. The main colour version is dark blue, with black and white versions also available. Variants with different levels of detail, from simple to elaborate, preserve the legibility of the architecture and small elements at different sizes. The visual identity uses Moscow University Serif, designed in 2021 by Vera Evstafyeva and based on historic type from the university’s printing house.
