The logo of Khan Academy, the educational platform, combines a green hexagon with a dark blue wordmark. Inside the hexagon, a white circle sits above two spreading leaves, together forming a person with open arms. The symbol can stand alone, while the full horizontal layout places the sans-serif wordmark to its right. This version was introduced in 2018, replacing the previous emblem while retaining the leaf motif. The leaf represents personal growth, and the hexagon refers to a shape found in mathematics, nature and art. The platform’s name comes from the surname of its founder, Salman Khan. The logo can also appear in solid black or white, depending on the background.
Khan Academy is a nonprofit educational project from the United States, created by Salman, or Sal, Khan. Its story began in 2004 with remote maths tutoring for his cousin Nadia. Those explanations later became videos for a wider audience, and the project developed into a free platform offering lessons, exercises and progress tracking. Alongside mathematics, learners study science, computer science, economics and other subjects. Students can revisit difficult topics and work at their own pace, while teachers and parents can track progress and help address gaps in understanding.
