Where and how can I use it?

SVG format

It’s a lightweight vector format (in kilobytes) that’s ideal for use on websites, in mobile apps, and for print. Thanks to its scalability to any size without loss of quality, it can be scaled from the size of an icon to a banner on a building. The file is easily editable in popular graphics editors such as Figma, Adobe Illustrator, CorelDRAW, and others, and opens in Photoshop without any issues.

PNG format

It’s a raster format with support for transparent backgrounds, making it ideal for use on websites, web graphics, in presentations, documents, and social media. PNG preserves high image quality at its original size, but may lose sharpness and become blurred when enlarged. The file easily opens and is used in popular editors such as Photoshop, GIMP, Canva, Figma, and most standard image viewers.

Blue MIPT logo with a slanted abbreviation and a line ending in a right-pointing arrow

The logo of the Moscow Institute of Physics and Technology, or MIPT, consists of an abbreviation and a line running underneath it with an arrow pointing right. On the left, the line rises sharply, drops below the baseline and returns to a horizontal course, forming a wave-like pulse. The lettering uses bold, slanted sans-serif capitals that follow the direction of the arrow. The main blue version is intended for light backgrounds, while a white logo is used on dark ones. In university materials, the abbreviation appears alongside the widely used name Phystech, derived from the Russian expression for ‘physics and technology’.

The Moscow Institute of Physics and Technology is a research university in Russia, with its main campus in Dolgoprudny in the Moscow Region. Its history began in 1946 with the Faculty of Physics and Technology at Moscow State University, which formed the basis for an independent institute in 1951. MIPT trains specialists in physics, mathematics, computer science, engineering and related fields. Its teaching is based on the Phystech System, combining fundamental university courses with early student involvement in research at affiliated departments and research organisations. Pyotr Kapitsa played an important role in shaping this model.
