The logo-emblem of EMERCOM of Russia, the federal agency responsible for rescue operations and emergency situations, is used in large, medium, and small versions. The heraldic sign and flag of EMERCOM of Russia were approved in 1997. The color version with a shield shows a golden double-headed eagle with lowered wings, a crown, a scepter in its right claw, and an orb in its left. On the eagle’s chest there is an orange shaped shield containing the small emblem of EMERCOM of Russia: a white eight-pointed star with elongated vertical rays, an orange circle, and a blue equilateral triangle in the center. The one-color emblem is presented without the shield: a large eight-pointed star with a circle and triangle in the center is placed on the chest of the double-headed eagle. The small emblem of EMERCOM of Russia is known as the «White Star of Hope».
