The Miro logo, for an online visual collaboration platform, consists of a yellow square symbol with strongly rounded corners and a black letter “M” inside. The letter is formed by three broad angular elements resembling right-pointing check marks with elongated lower strokes. They are placed close together in sequence and progressively shifted upward, forming an ascending diagonal. In the full horizontal and vertical versions, the symbol is accompanied by the Miro name in dark lowercase lettering, while the icon can also be used on its own. The name Miro was adopted during RealtimeBoard’s rebranding in 2019 and was inspired by Spanish artist Joan Miró, whose work the brand’s creators associated with visual self-expression and experimentation. In 2023, the brand identity was updated: the proportions of the letter “M” inside the symbol were adjusted, its elements were spaced slightly farther apart, and the corners of the yellow square were made more rounded.
Miro is an international online platform for visual collaboration, created by Andrey Khusid and Oleg Shardin in 2011 in Perm, Russia, originally under the name RealtimeBoard. The service began as an online whiteboard that helped a design agency work remotely with clients and, over time, evolved into a large workspace for teams. Today, Miro is used for brainstorming, diagramming, planning and roadmaps, product design, prototyping, documents, presentations, workshops, and workflow management. The platform is actively developing artificial intelligence features and positions itself as a workspace for innovation, with more than 100 million users across 250,000 organizations worldwide.
