The current Verizon logo, used by a telecommunications and technology company, is a red wordmark set in lowercase sans-serif letters. Its main distinguishing feature is the letter v, with a yellow-orange glow at the lower point where its diagonal strokes meet. The same idea is used in a separate graphic mark in the form of a large V, which can also appear on its own as a compact brand symbol. The new identity was introduced on June 26, 2024, replacing the 2015 version with a black Verizon wordmark and a small red checkmark. The red V with a yellow glow became a central element of the updated visual system. The name Verizon combines the Latin word veritas, meaning “truth,” with the English word horizon. The yellow glow refers to the horizon element in the name and the image of light on the horizon, as well as to the idea of energy created by connecting people and technology.
