The ABB logo of the international technology company focused on electrification and automation is presented as a bright red abbreviation made up of three capital letters. The letters are rendered as large geometric forms with solid fills, crossed at the center by thin vertical and horizontal cut lines. Because of this, each letter appears divided into four parts while retaining a unified and easily recognizable form. In current brand use, the primary version remains red on a white background, while black and white versions are used when the corporate red cannot be applied. The name ABB comes from the shortened form of ASEA Brown Boveri, adopted after the merger of Sweden’s ASEA and Switzerland’s Brown, Boveri & Cie.
