The Danone logo of the food and beverage company consists of a circular badge, the brand name, and a tagline. The symbol features a blue and light-blue background with soft speckles and washes resembling watercolor paint, within which the profile of a child’s head looking at a star is cut out. Next to it appears the name DANONE in dark blue, in uppercase letters and a sans-serif typeface. At the same time, some strokes of the letters have gentle curves and rounded transitions where, in more conventional typefaces, the lines would usually remain straight. Below is the tagline ONE PLANET. ONE HEALTH in light blue, set in small uppercase letters and separated by a period. The name Danone goes back to the founder Daniel Carasso’s son: Danon was his family nickname, from which the brand name was derived. The image of a child looking at a star became established in Danone’s visual identity in the 1990s, and in 2017 the company updated its corporate logo and added the tagline «One Planet. One Health».
Danone is a French food and beverage company with roots in Barcelona, where Isaac Carasso began producing yogurt in 1919. The first products were sold through pharmacies and were linked to the idea of nutrition supporting health, especially children’s health. Over time, the brand grew into an international group and today operates in more than 120 countries. Danone develops three key business areas: dairy and plant-based products, water, and specialized nutrition. The company links its work to the idea of «health through food for as many people as possible» and considers itself one of the world’s leading companies in its sector. Over more than a hundred years, Danone has grown from a small yogurt producer into one of the largest international brands in food and beverages.
