The EMS logo, used by the international express postal delivery service, in its current version consists of the large blue abbreviation EMS and orange stripes on both sides. The letters are set in a bold italic typeface, with the letter “S” featuring sharply cut corners. To the left of the abbreviation, the orange stripes form an arrow shape, while three long horizontal stripes extend from the upper right part of the sign. The name EMS stands for Express Mail Service. This sign is used as the identification of a global express postal delivery service.
Express Mail Service is the global brand of the fastest service in the postal network, used by postal operators in around 200 countries and territories. The service is intended for the accelerated shipment of documents and goods and includes priority handling, end-to-end tracking, signature on delivery, and delivery to the recipient’s address. The development and coordination of EMS are handled by the EMS Cooperative, created by the Universal Postal Union to develop this service on a global basis. More than 170 postal operators around the world are members of the cooperative.
