The Google Sheets logo, for Google’s spreadsheet service, is designed as a flat green document icon: a sheet with rounded corners and a folded top-right corner, with a white table symbol in the center shown as a 4-cell grid. The current icon version is part of the unified Google Workspace visual style introduced by Google in October 2020, after which service icons adopted a consistent visual approach.
Google Sheets is a cloud-based spreadsheet editor in the Google Workspace ecosystem, available in a browser and mobile apps. It lets you create and edit spreadsheets, share access and collaborate in the same file in real time, leave comments, use formulas and charts, work offline, and have changes saved automatically; it also supports opening, editing, and saving Microsoft Excel files. The service launched as Google Spreadsheets in 2006, and the name Google Sheets became established in 2012 when Google renamed the apps “Documents, Spreadsheets, Presentations” to “Docs, Sheets, Slides”.
