The IDEO logo, representing the design and innovation company, currently consists of four capital letters, each enclosed in a square frame. They resemble the outlines of letter blocks arranged diagonally into a check-mark shape. In the version for light backgrounds, the letters and frame outlines are dark. The squares are staggered: I sits highest, D and O occupy the middle level, and E sits lowest. The neighbouring frames touch and partly overlap at their edges, forming a connected composition. The spaces within and around the frames are transparent. The additional white version keeps the same arrangement and is intended for dark backgrounds.
IDEO is an international company that designs products, services, brands and organisations. It was founded by David Kelley, Bill Moggridge and Mike Nuttall in 1991 in Palo Alto, United States. Its approach starts with understanding people's needs and behaviour: observations help define the problem, propose solutions and test them through prototypes. IDEO's teams combine research, design, business strategy and technical development. The company works with businesses and public-interest initiatives in fields including healthcare, technology and consumer services. Its activities also include developing teams' capacity to innovate and creating new businesses.
