The Maytag home-appliance manufacturer logo consists of the brand name set in uppercase serif letters and placed inside the brand’s signature badge. In the current version, the mark appears as a dark-blue plaque with a metallic frame and an angular lower protrusion, with a light, silvery “MAYTAG” inscription featuring a dimensional effect inside. A key detail of the wordmark is that the letters “Y” and “T” in the center are fused into a single shape at the top: the long top bar of the “T” flows into the upper part of the “Y”, so the two letters read visually as a connected element. A wordmark-only version without the badge is also used, and in some layouts the tagline “WHAT’S INSIDE MATTERS” is added below the main mark.
Maytag is an American brand of household and commercial appliances, named after its founder, Frederick L. Maytag. The company’s history begins in 1893 in Newton, Iowa, and the brand became widely known largely through laundry and commercial laundry solutions, after which the range expanded to include major kitchen appliances. Since 2006, Maytag has been part of the Whirlpool group, and under this brand it produces washers and dryers, dishwashers, refrigerators, ranges, and other home appliances, as well as equipment and solutions for commercial laundries. Geographically, the brand is most widely distributed and recognizable in North America, primarily in the United States and Canada; in other markets Maytag appears much less often and is usually present only selectively, while the main sales and brand communications are concentrated in this region.
