The Microsoft Azure logo, used for Microsoft’s cloud platform, currently exists in two related forms. The short Azure brand mark is designed as a wide flat ribbon with a pseudo-three-dimensional effect, whose two folds form the letter A and which is rendered in blue gradients. The full version of the logo combines Microsoft’s four-color symbol with the gray Microsoft Azure wordmark. Microsoft introduced the current Azure symbol in 2021, noting that it is used primarily to represent Azure in product interfaces and architecture diagrams, while the main logo for the platform remains the full version paired with the Microsoft brand.
Microsoft Azure is a cloud platform launched in 2010 under the name Windows Azure and renamed Microsoft Azure in 2014. Today, it is one of Microsoft’s largest cloud computing businesses: the platform brings together compute, storage, networking, analytics, and AI services, as well as tools for developing, deploying, and managing applications across cloud, hybrid, and edge environments. Azure includes IaaS, PaaS, SaaS, and AIaaS models, so it is used both as an infrastructure foundation and as an environment for development, data, enterprise systems, and artificial intelligence services.
