The Mountain Hardwear logo consists of the brand name and a graphic symbol in the form of a nut with faceted edges. In 2023, the logo was updated: the nut became simpler in shape with a focus on geometry, and the font became tighter and more balanced. The text is now set in a custom font developed by the Gretel studio, with more consistent proportions and visual balance between the words “Mountain” and “Hardwear”. The updated logo retains the recognizability of the original but is more precise and adaptable for digital use.
Mountain Hardwear was founded in 1993 by former employees of Sierra Designs and has been part of Columbia Sportswear since 2003. The brand specializes in high-performance clothing and gear for mountaineering, trekking, and extreme outdoor activities. Mountain Hardwear products are used by professional athletes and expeditions around the world, and new materials and technologies are developed with a focus on functionality, durability, and comfort in harsh conditions.
