The Nasdaq logo of the stock exchange and the eponymous group of companies consists of a brand mark and a text rendering of the name. The mark is a turquoise “ribbon” that folds twice to form a slanted “N”; a pseudo-3D effect is created by the imitation of bends and inner facets. Next to it is the word “Nasdaq” in a dark color. In this form, the logo is most often associated specifically with the Nasdaq exchange (the trading venue), although formally the brand is also used at the corporate level of Nasdaq, Inc., which operates the exchange and other business lines.
Nasdaq, Inc. is an American company that owns and develops the Nasdaq Stock Market and related financial-market infrastructure. Nasdaq launched in 1971 as an electronic quotation system and over time became one of the world’s largest exchanges, especially known for a high share of technology and fast-growing companies among its listed issuers. Beyond exchange operations, the Nasdaq group develops market data and analytics, indexes (including the Nasdaq-100 family), and provides technology solutions and software platforms for exchanges and financial institutions in different countries.
