The logo of the Pentax photography brand consists of the company name written in uppercase letters. It uses a straight, simple sans-serif font with consistent geometry and even line thickness. The letters are closely spaced, giving the logo a solid and stable appearance. In current versions, only monochrome styling is used — black text on a light background or white on a dark one. A colored version (including red) is no longer used on the official website or products.
Pentax was founded in Japan in 1919 under the name Asahi Optical Joint Stock Co., initially producing eyeglass lenses. The name Pentax first appeared in 1957 as a combination of the words “pentaprism” and “Contax” — a popular camera brand from Germany’s Zeiss Ikon. Under this name, single-lens reflex cameras were launched, which gained international recognition. In 2008, the brand became part of Hoya Corporation, and in 2011 the camera division was acquired by Ricoh, which continues to develop it today. Pentax specializes in digital and film SLR cameras, lenses, binoculars, and other optics, maintaining its commitment to classic technologies and high image quality.
