The Perfetti Van Melle logo of the international confectionery group consists of the brand name split into two distinct parts. The word Perfetti appears in white uppercase letters inside a blue rectangular panel with rounded corners, while the wording van Melle is written in red handwritten cursive and enclosed by a red oval outline that partly extends beneath the upper block. In this form, the sign brings together the two historical names from which the company was formed. The name Perfetti Van Melle appeared after the merger of the Italian Perfetti and the Dutch Van Melle in 2001, and because the two companies were similar in scale, the new name simply combined their original names.
Perfetti Van Melle Group B.V. is one of the world’s largest companies in confectionery and chewing gum. The group traces its history in its current form to March 2001, when Perfetti SpA acquired Van Melle, and later expanded its portfolio with the acquisition of Chupa Chups in 2006 and Mondelēz’s chewing gum business in the United States, Canada, and Europe in 2023. Today, the company sells its products in more than 150 countries, has about 18,200 employees, 39 operating companies, and 33 production facilities. Its international portfolio includes Mentos, Chupa Chups, Alpenliebe, Frisk, Smint, Fruittella, Golia, Vivident, Happydent, Big Babol, Airheads, and other brands. In its own presentation, Perfetti Van Melle emphasizes imagination, taste, and passion, as well as the development, production, and marketing of confectionery and chewing gum for the global market.
