The logo Red Bull (energy drink brand) consists of two red bulls charging toward each other, set against a yellow circle, with a custom wordmark beneath. The bull figures, shown mid-collision, emphasize motion and power, and the circle behind evokes the sun’s radiance. The idea of bulls was borrowed from the Thai drink Krating Daeng, whose logo also features two bulls clashing. When Red Bull was launched in the 1980s, Dietrich Mateschitz retained this symbol and adapted it for the European market. Since its debut in 1987, the logo has maintained its core design, undergoing only minor technical refinements for packaging and digital media.
Red Bull GmbH was founded in 1984 by Dietrich Mateschitz and Chaleo Yoovidhya. The product first launched in Austria in 1987, pioneering the energy drink category. Beyond beverages, the brand evolved into a global media and sports powerhouse. Red Bull owns the Red Bull Racing Formula 1 team, football clubs such as RB Leipzig and New York Red Bulls, and sponsors extreme sports ranging from motocross to cliff diving. It stages signature events like Red Bull Air Race, Rampage and Flugtag, runs its own media production, and supports young athletes, musicians and cultural initiatives globally.
