The RuPay logo, used by an Indian card payment network, consists of the brand name set in bold italic dark-blue lettering and a symbol on the right made of two overlapping slanted triangles in orange and green. This symbol is called “fast-forward” and is used together with the RuPay wordmark as a single logo unit; on co-branded cards, the RuPay logo appears alongside the partner’s logo. The name RuPay is formed from “rupee” and “pay,” referring to the Indian rupee and everyday payments. Alongside the full-color version, one-color and monochrome versions are used when color is not possible or not desirable, for example on dark or busy backgrounds.
RuPay is India’s national card payment scheme (payment network), created by the National Payments Corporation of India (NPCI) to route and process cashless card transactions through banks and financial institutions. The scheme is primarily focused on the Indian market, while also expanding international acceptance through partner programs and co-branded products so that cardholders can pay abroad on partner networks; the international business is overseen by NPCI International Payments Limited (NIPL).
