The TASS logo consists of the brand name written in white capital letters on a dark blue square background. The font used is made up of simple rectangular shapes with clear outlines and no decorative elements, reflecting the agency’s official and business-like nature. The current version of the logo was introduced in 2014 when the agency returned to its historical abbreviation, dropping the previous name ITAR-TASS. Two full versions of the logo are used: in Russian as “ТАСС” and in English as “TASS”. Both are designed in the same style, maintaining the signature dark blue background and white lettering.
TASS is the largest news agency in Russia, with a history dating back to 1904 when it was founded as the St. Petersburg Telegraph Agency. Over more than a century, it underwent several transformations: in the early 20th century — ROSTA, then the Telegraph Agency of the Soviet Union (TASS), later renamed ITAR-TASS after the USSR’s collapse, and since 2014 it has been known again as TASS. Today, the agency publishes thousands of news pieces and multimedia content daily in six languages, with an extensive network of regional and international offices. Its headquarters is located in Moscow. TASS serves government bodies, businesses, media, and a wide audience by delivering verified information on key topics such as politics, economics, science, culture, and global events.
