The Viber logo is designed as a chat bubble with a purple outline, featuring an icon of a phone handset with three short radial lines representing signal or call. The key elements — chat shape, recognizable handset, and visual link to voice communication — emphasize the service’s main purpose: messaging and calling. Since its launch in 2010, Viber’s visual style has seen only minor changes, retaining its core elements and purple color as part of its brand identity.
Viber was created in 2010 by Israeli developers Talmon Marco and Igor Magazinnik as an alternative to paid mobile calls and SMS. In 2014, the company became part of the Japanese holding Rakuten. Today, Viber offers encrypted text chats, voice and video calls, file sharing, stickers, and supports group conversations. The Viber Out feature also allows calls to mobile and landline numbers. All communication is protected with end-to-end encryption. The service is widely used in Eastern Europe, the Middle East, Asia, and around the world, with hundreds of millions of users.
