The VK logo is a stylized abbreviation formed by the letters V and K, rendered in a clean geometric style. The current version appears as a single solid mark, with the white letters placed inside a blue circle. This visual style emphasizes the brand’s simplicity, recognizability, and versatility. Previously, the logo featured the full name VKontakte or the Latin-letter form VK, but as part of the rebrand the platform moved to a more minimal and internationally recognizable symbol. The latest redesign took place in 2021 and unified the visual identity of all products in the VK ecosystem, including the messenger, mail service, and other services.
VK (VKontakte) is Russia’s largest social network, launched in 2006 by Pavel Durov. The platform started as a Facebook-like service for Russian-speaking users, but quickly grew into an independent ecosystem with communication tools, media publishing, video content, communities, and built-in services. In 2014, control of the company passed to Mail.ru Group, now VK, after which the project became part of a major technology group. Today, VK is not only a social network but also a multimedia platform with hundreds of millions of users, significant influence on internet culture, and a developed infrastructure for businesses, bloggers, and developers.
