The Vote.gov logo, representing a federal election information portal, combines a graphic symbol with the website’s name in large, dark blue lowercase letters. The symbol features a two-color check mark inside an open rectangular frame. The left arm of the check mark is a solid dark blue shape, while the right arm consists of horizontal red stripes with angled ends, arranged in a stepped diagonal pattern rising upward. The graphic symbol is also used on its own, without the wordmark. The circular seal of the U.S. Election Assistance Commission (EAC) is incorporated into the letter “o” in “gov”. The portal’s name combines the English verb “vote” with the “.gov” domain, reserved for U.S. government organizations. In August 2024, the website received an updated design, improved navigation and expanded language support.
Vote.gov is a U.S. government information portal launched in 2016 to provide citizens with official information about voter registration and participation in elections. The website helps users find information about registering to vote, checking their registration status, early voting, voting by mail and voting rights. For information that reflects local requirements, the portal directs visitors to the websites of election authorities in U.S. states and territories, but it does not register voters itself or collect users’ personal data. The project was originally developed by the U.S. General Services Administration (GSA), and its management was fully transferred to the U.S. Election Assistance Commission (EAC) in 2025. The portal provides information in multiple languages and is designed to be accessible to people with disabilities.
