The current LG Electronics logo, featured on the official website, is a circular symbol in burgundy (officially “LG Red”) containing stylized letters “L” and “G” that form a schematic “face”: the “L” acts as the nose and the “G” represents the head with an eye-dot. This logo was introduced in 1995 after the merger of brands Lucky and GoldStar and has since become the primary visual element of the brand. Next to the circle, the wordmark LG typically appears in gray, set in a simple geometric typeface. In 2023, the company refreshed its visual identity: the red color became brighter and the logo gained animated versions for digital platforms, while the core circular symbol and its composition remained unchanged.
LG Electronics was founded in 1958 in South Korea under the name GoldStar and initially focused on producing radios and household appliances. In 1995, after merging with the chemical company Lucky, the company adopted a new name — LG, derived from Lucky GoldStar. Today, LG is one of the world’s leading manufacturers of consumer electronics and appliances: it produces TVs, refrigerators, washing machines, air conditioners, laptops, audio systems, smartphones (until 2021), as well as smart home and renewable energy solutions. The brand is present in over 75 countries and is part of the South Korean conglomerate LG Group.
