The Bizum logo, used by a Spanish payment service, consists of an icon and the brand name. The wordmark is set in lowercase letters with rounded terminals in a signature turquoise-blue color, while the icon forms a “lightning bolt”: several slanted segments of equal thickness with fully rounded ends, plus two round dots, arranged diagonally to create the overall lightning silhouette. This “lightning” icon is also used on its own as an app icon or standalone graphic element. The design keeps a consistent slant: both the icon and the crossbar of the letter “z” share the same angle (36°). The primary logo is the horizontal “icon + wordmark” layout; a vertical version is provided for small sizes, and black-and-white variants are used when needed. The name Bizum is linked to the idea of fast person-to-person transfers and is commonly explained as a combination of “bi” (between two) and the onomatopoeic “zum”, reminiscent of a quick buzz or swoosh.
Bizum is a payment solution launched as a joint project of Spain’s banking sector: a phone-number transfer service that works inside participating banks’ apps and provides instant credit to the recipient’s bank account. The brand belongs to the service developed by Bizum, S.L., registered in Madrid and owned by a group of participating banks. The project launched in 2016 with person-to-person transfers, then expanded to online merchant payments and donations, and it also takes part in the European Payments Alliance (EuroPA), developing cross-country interoperability of transfers with partner solutions in Europe.
