The Commerzbank logo, representing an international bank, consists of the brand name and a yellow graphic symbol positioned beside it. The symbol takes the form of a three-dimensional ribbon whose three broad sections flow into one another through smooth folds, forming a closed triangular outline. Transitions from bright yellow to golden tones emphasize the bends and create depth, while a triangular area of negative space remains in the center. The current logo was introduced in October 2009 following the merger of Commerzbank and Dresdner Bank. The yellow ribbon evolved from the former Dresdner Bank symbol, combining its form with the Commerzbank name and signature color. Before that, the bank had used the “four winds” emblem since 1972. The name derives from the Latin word commercium, meaning trade or commerce. In the horizontal version, the symbol appears to the right of the name, while in the vertical version it is placed above it. On light backgrounds, the wordmark is black, while on dark backgrounds it is white, with the symbol retaining its yellow and golden coloring.
