The Dongfeng logo consists of the brand name accompanied by a red circular emblem with two curved V-shaped elements inside, facing each other in motion. These shapes are enclosed in a thin circle and form a symmetrical mark that has become a recognizable symbol of the company over time. The emblem is rendered in a rich red color, traditionally associated in China with energy and prosperity. Since its introduction, the logo has not undergone major changes, only slight refinements: the lines have become sharper and the font more balanced and legible. The word “Dongfeng” is written in a simple, geometrically aligned sans-serif font, usually placed to the right of the emblem or below it.
Dongfeng Motor Corporation is one of China’s largest automobile manufacturers, founded in 1969 in Wuhan at the initiative of the Chinese government. The name translates to “East Wind” and reflects the ideological spirit of the time — a belief that “the East Wind will prevail over the West Wind,” a slogan from the Cultural Revolution. Initially, the company produced trucks for military and infrastructure use, but over time it expanded into a full range of automotive production, including passenger cars, buses, and commercial vehicles. In the 1980s and 1990s, Dongfeng began strategic partnerships with international brands such as Nissan, Honda, Peugeot, Citroën, Renault, and others. These collaborations played a key role in transforming Dongfeng into an export-oriented automotive giant. Today, Dongfeng is among China’s top four automotive groups, exporting its vehicles to dozens of countries while actively developing electric vehicle technologies and contributing to the global transformation of the automotive industry.
