The current Hino logo, used by the Japanese manufacturer of trucks and buses, combines a brand symbol and a wordmark. The symbol is built as the letter “H” inscribed in a horizontal oval. It is used in red or white and has a three-dimensional look thanks to the cutout elements inside that resemble chrome highlights. Next to it is the bold HINO wordmark set in a horizontally extended sans-serif typeface. The company has used this symbol since 1994 and links it to the image of the sun above the horizon, movement in two directions, and the safe operation of trucks and buses.
